Calls for Burris to resign

The Chicago Tribune said it first. Then came Illinois House Republicans. Then came the Chicago Sun-Times. Now, Gov. Pat Quinn is asking Sen. Roland Burris to resign.

Burris said he did nothing wrong when he "perjured" himself at the Blagojevich trial. He lied, plain and simple about campaign fundraising for Blago and contact with close Blago associates. But he will never resign. What can be done? Only the US Senate can get rid of him.

What a great state! Go Illinois!

Blagojevich as gov. has come to an end

I am going to miss seeing Rod Blagojevich on television, but I'm glad it's over. Or is it? The disgraced former governor of Illinois now will face Federal charges of attempting to sell Barack Obama's open Senate seat. Mr. Blagojevich may join his predecessor George Ryan in Federal prison. Blagojevich still maintains his innocence. We shall see what happens.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich is impeached by the Illinois House of Representatives:

Blagojevich: 'Impeachment trial is a sham'

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said today that the state is denying the will of the people. He said that he was re-elected as governor because the people think he is doing a good job.

He then said the "Impeachment trial is a sham" to reporters. He said that his conversation with Rahm Emmanuel, Obama's Chief of Staff, had nothing to do with the pay-to-play scandal.

Well, I think that the state actually likes Blagojevich because they haven't convicted him yet. What is taking them so long? There is a lot that can take him down, it is not just the scandal involving the open Senate seat, as we all know.

Below is a story from the Chicago Tribune and its television partner WGN.

Somebody was missing at Obama's Inauguration

Where was Rod Blagojevich today? He is the governor of Illinois, Barack Obama's home state. Rahm Emmanuel was at the festivities and he is about as guilty as Blago. They are buddy-buddy after all.

By the way, why hasn't Blagojevich been convicted by the Illinois State Senate yet? What is taking them so long? Illinois government is just as corrupt as Blago himself.

In other governor senate appointment news, New York Gov. David Patterson will make his appointment soon. Maybe today. If he chooses Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, it will be a mockery. Just because she's a "Kennedy." But, we'll see. At least he isn't taking money for the seat like Blagojevich.

The end is near for Blagojevich

The Illinois House of Representatives impeachment panel voted 21-0 in favor of impeaching Gov. Rod Blagojevich today. Next up will be a vote by the House of Representatives to impeach him. Then a trial will convict the governor.

This will be interesting. What will happen to Rahm Emmanuel as well? How powerful is the Chicago Machine?

Chicago Machine on full power with Blagojevich, Rush

Illinois disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich is still pulling the strings. He apparently does not feel threatened one bit. After all, the state legislature only threatened to take his appointing powers away from him and never did. Illinois is corrupt all around. Whoever comes from Chicago is most likely corrupt.

Now, Blagojevich has appointed Roland Burris to take Obama's empty Senate seat. The governor says it is his duty to do so, which is true, but why this way? We know now that Burris did give Blagojevich significant campaign contributions in the past. So this could be why he was chosen. It's all about the money to Blagojevich. Burris may be qualified, but why did he even accept this appointment? This only hurts Burris's reputation.

Then after the appointment, Bobby Rush spoke. Rush was a co-founder of the Illinois Black Panthers in 1968. He says that it would be a national emergency if there was no African American in the U.S. Senate. Come on, how racist can someone be?! Just because he or she is black? Is that how it is these days? What ever happened to the most qualified candidate? This person could be white, black, Asian, Indian, or anything else.

You know, Chicago rules Illinois. Springfield and Peoria mean nothing. Just listen to Blagojevich and Rush. It's all about "our community" of Chicago.

Below is a video of yesterday's press conference:

Rush shares his racist views on CBS Early Show today:

Rush on CNN's Larry King Live:

One more time with Rush from yesterday's press conference:

Does Bobby Rush know how racist he sounds when he speaks? He brings up Hispanics, Asians and women?! My gosh. And this man is a friend of Blagojevich. How much more do we need of this fiasco?!

What is the Blagojevich-Obama Relationship?

Obama Senior Adviser David Axelrod: "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

That was then (Nov. 23). This is now (Dec. 9): "I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject."

What is the truth?

This is only the beginning.

What's New? Political Corruption in Illinois

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was awoken this morning at 6 a.m. by the FBI.

What did he do? He was only looking out for his best interest. He was only selling the US Senate seat to the highest bidder. It was just another pay-to-play. Oh, and he did threaten the Chicago Tribune. And, he got benefits for himself and his wife from state contracts. This is nothing.

You know I'm joking, but really this is no joke. This man is a crook. He's worse than his predecessor, Gov. Ryan.
