Soda pop tax to pay for socialized heath care?

Stupidity is in the air. I can understand a tax on tobacco. It actually kills, or at least shortens a person's life span. Now sugary drinks? I'm not a health expert, but I haven't heard about anything life threatening from pop, energy drinks, or fruit drinks.

I guess they'll try anything to get socialized health care. The U.S. Government is broke and it has come to this. What's next, increased tax at fast food joints?
